When I had my oldest daughter, there were so many baby products out there it kinda made my head spin. Between all the advice on the internet and from well-meaning friends it was very overwhelming. Now, After having had 2 children, I have a better idea of what is a must and what really isn’t. These are just a few products that I love and recommend. You can follow my Pinterest page My Favorite Baby Products to see a full list of baby products I have used and recommend.
1. Nose Frida (aka the “Snot Sucker”)
This thing is amazing! Those bulb syringes they give you in the hospital just don’t cut it. I know a lot of people want to gag when thinking about sucking up their babies snot, but seriously, when you hear your baby struggling to breathe in the middle of the night you think they are going to suffocate on their own mucus. When you hear the chalkboard scratching cries you will change your tune pretty quickly. Besides, there is a filter between the area that you suck on and the place where the snot goes. I guarantee that NO SNOT GETS IN YOUR MOUTH.
I didn’t have this beautiful thing with my first child because they were not available in the United States, but I did with my second. I can tell you right now, I am NEVER getting rid of it! I will be saving this puppy for my great great grandkids I love it so much. It is a little pricey, but definitely worth it.
The DockATot is the perfect place to put your baby anywhere. When my youngest was a newborn she would not sleep unless I was holding her. She didn’t like anyone except for me, so mother gave me the DockATot as a gift and I can’t thank her enough!
I used it in our bed for cosleeping for a long time, but I also used it outside, inside with an activity gym, and as a mobile bed among other things. It is very portable and comes with a carrying case. It comforts the baby and prevents them from rolling over on their own to prevent them from suffocating. It makes them feel like they are being held at all times, and it also made transferring my daughter from my bed to her crib a breeze.
There are two different sizes the Deluxe and the Grand. The grand is for older kids. I never used it, but I somewhat wish I had.
3. Moby Wrap
I have tried several different types of wraps and carriers, and I prefer this one. This is really a good wrap. It takes a little while to figure out how to put it on, but it holds your baby close and doesn’t hurt your back like some other carriers I’ve tried.
This teether is very cute, and it has a book and teether series that goes along with it. My kids loved chewing on it, and one lasted for both my kids.
I don’t know what I would have done trying to nurse without this thing. It contours to your body and is comfy for baby. Overall, it makes nursing very comfortable.
I love this for when I wanted the baby to kinda sit up a little, but still be in the same room as me. I would not use this once the baby could roll over, but it’s great for when the baby is awake and you need to set them down for a while.
My oldest daughter loved her swing! It was her favorite thing to do, and would often fall asleep mid-swing. It was also great if I need to put her down to cook dinner or take a shower. She was happy, I was happy, and everything was fun.
I love these nursing covers. They serve multiple purposes, they are a nursing cover, carseat cover(like the pic), and a grocery basket cover! That’s 3 things in one. Not to mention they fold up to be very small, so putting them in the diaper bag or purse is easy peasy.
9. Swaddle Me
I could never really get the hang of swaddling with blankets. Not to mention, my little ones always figured out how to get their arms out of them by the time they were a few weeks old. This solves that problem. It’s super easy to use and keeps baby wrapped up all snuggly. It stays secure with velcro tabs and is super easy to clean.
10. Swaddle Me Pods
These are a lot like the regular swaddle me swaddles except they use a zipper instead of fabric and velcro. These are better to use in the summer because the baby is only covered with 1 layer of fabric instead of the traditional 3 which makes it cooler.
These are great for baby to develop leg muscles(in my opinion). You just attach them to the door frame and you have instant entertainment for baby. My oldest used hers non-stop.
The exersaucer is great for keeping your baby occupied while you do other things. It also helps them develop their finer motor skills while keeping them safe.
Ok, I tried a ton of different rocking chairs and they all had something I didn’t like about them till I found this one. I love the fact that it not only rocks but it also swivels. This makes it easier to get out of the chair when you are done sitting in it. The arms are the perfect height too great to lean on, but not so high that you can’t nurse comfortably with them. The only thing I didn’t like was the color because I was worried that it would get dirty really fast, but I have had it for over a year and it still looks like new!
I love this thing. It can be used with almost any kind of chair and is pretty portable if you need to take it with you on a trip. I love the fact that it just fits right into my kitchen without having a high chair take up a ton of space.
Winter time can get pretty cold for most people, not so much here in Texas but this is still useful. I love the cozy, because it doesn’t restrict your baby from being able to move around, but it does keep them warm.
Babies need a lot of stimulation, and an activity gym is a perfect way for them to do that. This is the one I like the most.
I don’t know what I would do without this. Our house is very noisy and my kids would wake up if a pen dropped next door. This solved that problem. It blocks out all the extra noise without being too disruptive to your babies sleep. It also has a projector that puts a moving picture on the ceiling if the baby is being fussy.
18. Sleep Sacks
This is a great alternative to using a blanket. It keeps the baby warm without risking suffocation. I love these!
In my opinion, these are great for getting baby to stand for longer periods of time. And standing is the gateway to walking.
This is pretty self-explanatory, but this helps the baby walk before they have really gotten a hang of their balance. It has a rubber band around the front wheels to keep it from rolling too fast, and a bunch of little activities and toys all over it. My kids played with this for hours and hours well into toddlerhood.
Well, I hope this list has helped in some way! Let me know what other awesome baby products you guys love!
